UnderFloor Heating
CMD Ceramics can also install underfloor heating as part of most floor tiling projects. There are many different systems available and we have experienced most already. Generally our underfloor heating installations go like this:
Task 1: We Lay cables/heating mat in position, then you need an electrician to test the connections, to make sure everything is working at this stage.
Task 2: We come back and pour a leveling compound over the cables/heating mat forming a flat tileable surface that will also protect the cables whilst the tiling is completed.
Task 3: Carry out the floor tiling, using products suitable for underfloor heating applications.
Re-Grouting
Grout can become worn over time and lose its colour, sometimes even turning mouldy. The only answer is to rake out the old grout and re-apply new grout, this can be time consuming but is still a cheaper alternative to re-tiling. A few days spent re-grouting can transform a bathroom or kitchen and restore its former glory.
Ditra Matting
Schluter-DITRA is a polyethylene membrane with a grid structure of square cavities each cut back in a dovetail configuration, and an anchoring fleece laminated to it's underside. Designed for tile and natural stone installations, Schluter-DITRA serves as a waterproofing membrane, a vapour pressure equalisation layer to accommodate moisture occurring at the underside of the substrate, and an uncoupling layer for problematic substrates.
Tile Trims
External corners can cause problems with some types of tile but there is a solution. Tile bead or 'trim', as it's also known, can really make a difference. We strongly recommend using it anywhere there's an external corner as it can really give you that perfect finish and is available in many different styles and colours. Repair Work
We also undertake repair work which may include badly finished DIY, work carried out by "rogue tradesmen" or Flood damage which can involve insurance companies.
Grout Colours
We offer grout in twenty six different colours so we can really help you to achieve the look you are hoping for.
Colour Matching Silicon Sealant
We can also offer silicone sealant in twenty seven colours, which are designed to match the grout range above, which is also available in clear.
